Sir,
In reply to the question contained in paragraph 5 of Colonial Office Despatch N.54 of the 5th of November 1886, I have the honour to inform you that the small stock of White's cement alluded to by me in my letter to you of the 7th of January 1886 as still remaining in store, referred to a residue of 70 barrels left over from the Crown Agents' consignment of White's cement shipped by them by the steamer "Gleneagles" towards the close of 1884 under requisition 13583 for the Belcher's Bay Reclamation Works. This small residue, having been found in good condition,
